The Skanda Center for Yoga (SCY)
Quiet the mind,
Loosen the grip
Our Philosophy
What was Yoga intended to reveal?
This simple question lies at the heart of the Skanda Center for Yoga.
This question shapes our philosophy, our curriculum and our approach to teaching.
Every posture, every breath, every meditation and every class becomes part of this larger journey—not of learning yoga, but of gradually uncovering the deeper purpose behind Yoga.
At Skanda, Yoga is not a system of physical practice.
It is a disciplined path to self-realisation,
that gradually transforms how we live, perceive and relate to the world.
Explore the essence of Yoga
Our goal is to guide seekers through a progressive journey where practice, philosophy and direct experience come together.
As understanding matures, students are naturally prepared not only to teach yoga with authenticity, but also to continue their deeper spiritual journey within Skanda Sanctuary.
We invite sincere practitioners to explore the essence of yoga, not simply its techniques.
Why Skanda?
What Makes Skanda Different?
The Skanda Center for Yoga is built upon LEAP Methodology by Sandeep, establishing the foundations for deeper spiritual inquiry and naturally preparing students for the FIRE Method and the wider learning journey of Skanda Sanctuary.
We Begin With You
While most yoga programs begin by teaching postures, we begin somewhere different. We begin with the practitioner.
We begin with your search, your questions and your aspirations. We believe understanding why you walk the path is as important as learning how to practise it.
We Teach Yoga as a Complete Path
We don't teach yoga as physical exercise alone. Every practice from asana and pranayama to philosophy and meditation is presented within Yoga's larger purpose of Self-understanding and Self-realisation.
We Don't Give You Answers. We Help You Discover Them.
Our goal is not to transfer information or explain ancient teachings. Through guided practice, reflection and self-inquiry, our goal is to create the conditions in which true understanding can unfold naturally from within you.
Through this approach, insights are personally realised and deeply integrated rather than being borrowed from someone else's conclusions.
We Prepare The Foundation for Your Inner Journey
The Skanda Centre for Yoga lays the essential foundations for the deeper contemplative practice or spiritual understanding.
Through the LEAP framework, students cultivate the awareness, discipline and inner stability that naturally prepare them for the next phase of spiritual inquiry through Sandeep's FIRE framework. (Click here to read more about the framework)
Learning Path
A Progressive Journey of Learning
Every stage of the Skanda Yoga Journey has been carefully designed to prepare you for the next.
Rather than overwhelming students with information at once, the curriculum unfolds progressively.
You begin by establishing a steady personal practice and understanding the foundations of yoga. As your experience matures, you gradually develop the skills, confidence and discernment required to guide others responsibly. The advanced levels provide opportunities for continued study, mentorship and specialised learning.
Each stage introduces new perspectives while deepening the foundations established previously.
As your practice develops, so does your understanding, allowing yoga to become not simply something you study,
but a way of living, teaching and relating to the world.

Learning Experience
Merge learning with your daily living
Integrate with Daily Life
Because the programme unfolds over several months, you'll have the opportunity to apply each teaching in your everyday life before moving forward. This creates deeper understanding, lasting habits and meaningful personal transformation rather than short-term information overload.
Live Guided Learning
Learn directly from experienced teachers through interactive live sessions that encourage dialogue, questions and personalised guidance—not passive video consumption.

Small Learning Cohorts
Every cohort is intentionally kept small to foster meaningful discussions, individual feedback and a supportive learning environment where every student is known personally and the session timings are also adapted to student and teacher availability.

Personal Mentorship
Receive guidance from experienced teachers throughout your journey, helping you overcome challenges, refine your practice and grow with confidence.
Reflection based Assignments
Learning deepens through reflection. Journals, contemplation exercises and guided assignments encourage you to observe your own experience and integrate the teachings into daily life.
Meet the Guides
Learn from Guides,
who will walk beside you
At Skanda, we believe the best guides are those who not only bring years of personal practice, lived experience and wisdom, but who can also walk alongside you—supporting, challenging and accompanying you as your own understanding unfolds.

Testimonials
Hear from our Students
Every student's journey is unique and every cohort leaves with its own stories of learning, challenges and transformation.
We are grateful to share a few reflections from our former students who have attended our retreats, workshops or sessions.

Dawn Robinson
Really wonderful teaching of Yoga Asanas and Philosophy by Sandeep and of Pranayama (breathing and Meditation) by Zaida.
Both are excellent teachers and know how to adapt to the needs and level of their students.

Rāma has managed to create a humble, yet strong presence as a teacher which is very authentic.
You clearly feel that Rāma does what he does based on positive and conscious intentions and that he puts a lot of thought into it. Hope we can practice again together one day!

Sol Martínez
Rāma, even though you asked us never to call you "Master," to me, you were one in the truest sense of the word.
I will always recommend your professionalism and wisdom, as well as the tact and joy with which you share your knowledge; your discipline and consistency have always been an example to follow.
